Borborema Lithium

  • Project Size: 10,495 ha over 10 Mineral Rights
  • Project Location: Rio Grande do Norte & Paraíba States, Northeast Brazil
  • Commodities: Lithium & Tantalum

PROJECT SUMMARY: The Borborema Portfolio represents a district-scale land package acquired by Libra in September 2025 through the strategic acquisition of Brion Minerals. The portfolio comprises 10 Mineral Rights situated within the Borborema Province, a geological powerhouse in Northeast Brazil that is rapidly emerging as a global hub for critical minerals.

The assets were assembled by a team of Brazilian experts with a focus on hard-rock pegmatite targets. Compared to other spodumene regions in Brazil, such as Lithium Valley, Minas Gerais district, the Borborema Province offers an early-mover advantage in a region with excellent existing infrastructure, including access to ports and grid power, with lower exploration maturity.

Geology and Mineralization

The projects are located within the Borborema Pegmatitic Province (BPP) in the Seridó Fold Belt. This region is geologically distinct, characterized by a vast network of Neoproterozoic pegmatites intruding metasedimentary rocks (schists and quartzites) of the Seridó Group.
The Borborema pegmatites are renowned for their tantalite-columbite-beryl-lithium mineralization. The specific targets identified by Libra, including Amparo, host swarms of pegmatite dykes that have historically been mined for tantalum and gemstones but overlooked for lithium.
